This isn’t our normal type of post but seeing as Auto Trader are going to be using the power of Twitter to give away a car to someone I thought it was news worthy.

You will also have a chance to win one of 35 mystery spot prizes – in celebration of Auto Trader’s 35 year automotive heritage. Prizes range from an iPad, to petrol vouchers and fluffy dice.

Search #winMiiwithAT from 12pm this Wednesday and check out New Car Drop for all the action. We would love it if you’d like to get involved and tell your followers why you deserve to win Mii?!

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Unboxing Video

Note 2

If you were tempted by the Original Samsung Galaxy Note but for whatever reason didn’t pick it up it may now be time to consider the Note 2. It is bigger and better and after me using it for a couple of days I can say it’s a real bobby dazzler!

Now sporting a 5.5 Super AMOLED HD screen, powered by a 1.6 GHZ dual-core processor this thing is a beast. Running Android 4.1, Jelly Bean the Note 2 is one of the fastest smartphones currently on the market.

Battery worries should be a thing of the past as this one as a massive 3100 mAp one which should give you peace of mind. Weighing 180g it isn’t the lightest device but you wouldn’t expect it to be with the huge 5.5 inch screen. Don’t let this put you off. The galaxy Note 2 is pretty amazing and with the added features now added the S- Pen has even more capabilities.

You can check out the unboxing video below along with the full specs of Samsungs new monster.

Thanks to Clove for the review unit. You can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sim free here.

Warning – HP in Attack mode!

hp-logo-shadowedIt seems that HP is going to jump back into the tablet market big time. In fact, they are also planning to "aggressively attack" the smartphone market as well, and they plan to use the Android OS to do it. Here’s a quote with some of the details,

Quote:

HP will “aggressively attack” both the smartphone and tablet markets, according to Jefferies analyst Peter Misek recent note to investors.
“While the move makes sense strategically, we see it as a high risk move,” Misek explained. “On top of adding costs and working capital burdens to an already stressed balance sheet, there could be additional write-offs.”
HP’s last attempt to enter the mobile space was a short-lived one. Just around a month after it launched the webOS-based HP TouchPad, the company pulled the plug on webOS, cancelled its HP Pre 3 project, all under the strong influence of then CEO Leo Apotheker.
Newly appointed Meg Whitman seems to renew HP’s somewhat lost focus in consumer products and the mobile industry and we can only hope the company brings a great Android device, competition is always welcome.

This seems like a daring move by HP. We are looking forward to seeing what they can come up with. Would you consider moving to an HP phone or tablet?

Giving Your Mobile the Personal Touch

sim-card Although no person wants to be alone, each one wants to be unique. When it comes to possessions, we want our things to have a personal touch. We want to express ourselves through our essential possessions, like the food we eat, the home we live in, the car we drive, the clothes we wear, the bags we carry, and the mobile telephone we use.

Do you want to personalise your cell phone or your smartphone? There are many ways to add a personal touch to our phones. These range from displaying unique wallpaper to having outrageous cases. The possibilities are endless, and it’s up to you to have some fun with your phone.

Wallpapers, screensavers, logos and icons can be customised by making your own. You don’t have to be a Leonardo or a Michaelangelo to do this. There are lots of programs to help you out. Besides, you can take pictures of yourself, your loved ones, your favourite celebrities, your favourite things or foods, or your pets, and set them up as wallpapers and screensavers. Your pets’ cute face would make a beautiful icon.

There are phones that have banners. Put in a nice or funny quote. Or, you can use a silly quote and smile every time you read it. Your handset’s themes, colours, fonts and skins can also be set according to your preference. The good thing is you can change these settings every time you feel like it.

Ringtones, ringback tones, message alerts and other tones can also be customised by making your own. There are phones with composer software that produces monotone ringtones. You may also download a clip of your favourite song or you can sing yourself and use your song. A pet’s bark or meow will make a nice message tone.

Now, let’s see what we can do with the physical part of our phones. A wide range of colourful cases are available online and in stores. Some cases are formal like black, white, beige and dark blue. However, there are plenty of colourful and fun cases, too, with prints ranging from polka dots to tribal patterns. Some even have letter initials or full names printed on them.

Some stores offer services such as customising your handset’s cases. However, if you want to personalise your case, how about doing it yourself. You can buy stickers, rhinestones and other embellishments, and the fun begins!

You may also add your own drawings and doodles. Or, you can imprint your hands or your pet’s paws, and use it for your phone’s cover.

Cell phone pouches and tote bags are also available, which of course you can customise too. You can make your own, if you’re a little crafty, or you can put stickers, rhinestones or patches to existing bags. Keychains, accessories and even blings are also available for your phone.

The ultimate personal touch, however, that you can give your phone is to give it memorable mobile phone numbers. You can have a set of numbers that are dear to your heart, or just a set that looks unique and remarkable. For interesting and exciting mobile numbers, visit Unique SIMs.

BlackBerry 10 Facebook app demo – Video

bb10

This week has been rather enlightening on the BlackBerry 10 front with plenty of new features being shown off at BlackBerry Jam Americas. The new BB10 Facebook app was included in the demonstrations and it certainly looks pretty awesome, if not very similar to the Android Facebook app. With Facebook being so popular this one is well worth a watch. I am still a bit limited on what I can and can’t say about BlackBerry 10 but for those who have been doubting its success I hope this weeks news has made you think twice. BlackBerry 10 is going to kick butt for sure!

ZTE V9A Light Tab 2 gets a price drop at Clove – A Nexus 7 alternative?

zte-v9a-light-tab-launching-next-month

The ZTE V9A – Light Tab 2 may not be as great specs wise compared to the Google Nexus 7 but it does have a 3G modem built in which you can’t ‘currently’ get with the Nexus. With a discount on the tablet at Clove the price is only £142.80 including VAT which for what you are getting is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Yes, it only runs Android 2.3 and only has 4GB of internal storage but the 3G capabilities kind of make it attractive,.

You can pick up the ZTE Lite Tab 2 at Clove here.

Bad Piggies released by Rovio

BP

Rovio Entertainment released its newest game, Bad Piggies, for iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. Told from the pigs’ point of view, this innovative game lets fans build amazing machines that crawl, roll, crash, and fly the pigs to the eggs!

“We’ve never done anything like this,” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games. “Where Angry Birds was all about destruction, Bad Piggies is all about the joy of construction. It’s not just about getting three stars — in this game, failing is almost as much fun as succeeding!”

The game is set on Piggy Island, where the Bad Piggies are after the eggs again — but as usual, nothing is going according to plan. They need help in creating the ultimate flying machine and steering it safely to their destination.

With more than 60 levels, and free updates coming up, there’s hours and hours of pig-crashing, exploding, and flying fun. Fans can unlock an additional 30 levels by getting three stars, and four sandbox levels let them stretch their creativity to the utmost. With 33 objects available to create the ultimate machine, the sky’s the limit — if you can navigate around all the obstacles first!

This is the first time the Bad Piggies are protagonists of a game, but it’s just the beginning of a series of Bad Piggies related games and other entertainment.

Bad Piggies is available now on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC, with Windows Phone coming soon.
