Motorola Mobility Unveils the New Motorola RAZR

RAZR 2

Say hello to the jaw-dropping new Motorola RAZR, brought to you by Motorola Mobility, Inc. Impossibly thin at 7.1 millimeters with sexy curves to boot, this beauty will be available in North America, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Middle East and Africa starting this November. Boasting a gorgeous sculpted glass face, diamond-cut aluminum accents and a hyper-vibrant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display for incredibly vivid images. Motorola RAZR also sports KEVLAR fiber (yes, that KEVLAR) and Corning Gorilla Glass to help the screen stand up to scratches. In fact, every part of Motorola RAZR is protected by a splash-guard coating – even the electrical boards inside. This work of art is a force to be reckoned with.

If that’s not enough, pop the hood and find a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor with an impressive 1GB of RAM, all powered by Android 2.3.5. You’ll fly through tasks up to two times faster than single-core processor phones. Stream or download music and photos from your home or work computer with the easy-to-use MOTOCAST app. Watch movies on a screen that sports a wider range of colors than most LCD HDTVs. And for that inspiring filmmaker in you, use the 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p video capture for crisp, clear, cinematic-quality images.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 review

BlackBerry Torch 9810 review The original Torch marked a new direction for RIM, a company well known for sticking to its guns and churning out minor variations on what are essentially very similar phones. Going down a new path with the Torch must have been quite tough for RIM as they’re back a year later with a Torch which is basically identical to the original. Despite the 9810 looking just like the old one, it does seem that RIM have listened to reviews and customer feedback; they have rectified the main issues highlighted with the original Torch, namely the low screen resolution and the lag.

Does the new performance boost and OS make the Torch 2 a worthy successor to the 9800, and is it good enough for a seat in your pocket in 2011? Read the full review to see what we thought.

BlackBerry DevCon 2011 starts today – BBX unveiling?

Screen Shot 2011-10-18 at 08.09.09

Today sees the start of BlackBerry DevCon in the USA. Now if you are not a BlackBerry user you more than likely have no interest in this whatsoever. However, it is here that we expect to see the future of BlackBerry Smartphones running QNX. The new OS, called BBX should be demonstrated although as a release is some way away I am guessing there will not be any hands on time but maybe the new OX will be displayed in glass cases like when the PlayBook was released.

Co- CEO Jim Balsillie said in a recent article, "We’ve leapfrogged everyone with what we’re announcing [on Tuesday] and you’re going to see it on display."

Hopefully we should also get some final announcements on version 2.0 of the PlayBook OS as well as an update on Android applications running on the tablet.

Although we cannot be there in person we will be reporting on the news so stay tuned later in the day.

We mentioned just a week or so ago that the BlackBerry Curve 9360 was available on Orange. I have just seen on the ‘coming soon’ page that they also are expecting the white version which looks rather cool.

Available from free on contract and £249.99 on pay as you why not stand out from the crowd and be unique with the white variant?

We will have a full review of the new Curve on the site in the next week or two. In the meantime there is a reminder of the devices specs below:

HTC Radar unboxing video

htc-radar-ofic-2 Following on from our video of the HTC Titan from a few days ago we now have our hands on the HTC Radar. Smaller than the HTC Titan the Radar is a slightly more pocketable 3.8″ but has the same Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system.

The HTC Radar is similar to the HTC Mozart from last year with a slightly larger screen and updated OS, the other specs are much the same. However, The HTC Radar offers a premium design. Crafted from a single piece of polished metal, the phone just feels great in your hands and is built to last.

Full review coming up soon but you can check out the unboxing video below.

Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus for BlackBerry PlayBook – Video

Modern-Combat

I will be honest with you and say that I don’t find a great number of games on the BlackBerry PlayBook that I really like. Over the past few weeks though a number of new ones from popular games companies have cropped up so things are looking positive for gaming on QNX.

This week in App World saw the arrival of Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, which is a game i absolutely love, so I shelled out the £6.99 for it knowing it would keep me occupied for hours and hours. Having played the game previously on the iPhone I knew what fun I would have and I was also interested to see how it performed on the BlackBerry PlayBook.

I wasn’t disappointed. It is fast, looks great and sounds wonderful using the PlayBooks awesome speakers.

You can see a brief video demo below:
