Chat for Facebook Pro – BlackBerry Application

Screen shot 2010-12-19 at 19.55.26

Chat for Facebook Pro is a new BlackBerry app that has recently appeared in BlackBerry App World. Like the title suggests the app will allow you to use Facebook chat from your BlackBerry. This app is not the first to so this as many of the integrated instant messaging apps such as Trillian, Nimbuzz and IM+ offer the same, but where this one is quite nice is that the interface is very much like Facebook and at 79 pence it wont break the bank meaning you can always be in touch with your Facebook friends while out and about.

Nokia C7 Unboxing Video

Nokia-C7

Announced back in September and first seen at Nokia World in London the Nokia C7 was one of four new devices all running the latest version of Symbian (3). The C7 sits somewhere in the middle in terms of size although the specs are not much different from the N8 flagship device.

Love or hate Symbian, what we can confirm is that sales of the C7 will be high. Nokia are still the worlds leading phone manufacturer and this does not look set to change anytime soon.

Check out the unboxing video below and see what you think of this well built, robust, powerful smartphone.

HTC YouTube app for WP7 – Video

HTC Logo

HTC have created there own YouTube app for Windows Phone 7. If you are a WP7 user then this must be downloaded as it supports HQ playback and is pretty speedy. The app is not yet in the HTC Hub but can found in the Marketplace under apps – music & video.

If you have not seen the app in action then please see the below video where i give a quick demo if the UI and video playback.

I am pretty impressed with this one although there is still some work to be done.

Android tablet comparison

Pills 14

For the most part Android tablets are the cut price or budget iPad alternatives. There doesn’t seem to be the one size fits all option here. Each one has a massive draw back that will result in endless searching. Here we will devel into the Android tablets worth looking at and pluck out the Christmas king.

Over the last few weeks I have been analysing the tablets, identifying their pros and cons and am determined to come up with a result with which Android tablet is the best iPad alternative. I agree there are many editorials like this online however they only seem to feature a handful of those available and mostly those anticipated.
So lets just say its Xmas. Your loved one doesn’t want an iPad so the search is on for the alternative.  Toy R Us, TJ Hughes, Next, Asda offerings and other sub £200 tablets are being ignored as they really shouldn’t exist. Honestly, they just shouldn’t!

Nokia E7 delayed to early next year

e7_green_front_l_slide_604x604 The E7 was originally supposed to reach the hands of consumers by December, so right about now. However, just like the N8, Nokia have announced that the E7 will in fact be delayed, this time until Q1 of 2011. According to Nokia, this is down to some small issues "to ensure the best possible user experience on the Nokia E7." The rumours floating around are that some durability issues were discovered with the hardware, so the delay is to make sure that E7’s will last and feel as great as it looks. Running Symbian 3, it might not appeal to everyone but for hardcore messaging folks it could well be a great device. See James’ demo video of it’s messaging capabilities after the break.

BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac gets updated

Screen shot 2010-12-16 at 09.57.29

It’s about time the Mac got an update for BlackBerry Desktop Software. Up until now I have had to use my Windows laptop for switching devices and media syncing but not any more. This latest update includes those features as well as full BlackBerry 6 support.

The Windows version too has had an update but nothing special has been added as far as i can see.

Whichever version you use I suggest you check for an update.
